The Museum's Goal will be to educate and promote an appreciation of the rich history of horse racing in
Texas through innovative exhibits and programs dedicated to its history, culture and science.
Upon entering the museum the exciting world of horse racing will unfold. The 10,000 sf museum will
house the Hall of Fame collections, an orientation theater, a changeable exhibits gallery, a hands-on exhibit gallery, a gift
store, plus staff/public facilities.
The exhibit gallery will introduce visitors to all aspects of the Texas horse racing industry. Hands-on
exhibts, multimedia and a spectacular collection of memorabilia will educate and entertain visitors.
The changeable gallery will provide somethingnew for frequent visitors. This space will feature exhibts
that explore other types of horse racing. It will provide an area for traveling exhibits from other racing museum.
Special limited engagements can be planned, exhibiting renowned equine art collections, spectacular trophies or private collections
of racing memorabilia.
The museum shop will enable visitors to take home a memory of their visit. It will also be a source
of quality gift ideas for the discerning horse racing enthusiast.
The orientation theater will be filled with the sights and sounds of horse racing. This will be an
introduction to America's premier equine athlete - the race horse. Visitors will see the exciting story of racing unfold,
following the cast members, from the race horses, to the trainers, jockeys, owners and fans. You will be able to feel
the excitement they all hold on race day!
The hands-on exhibits will provide the opportunity to experience what it feels like to ride a race horse
competing in a big race on the horse racing simulators. Using interactive multi-media, visitors wil feel all the sensations
that a real jockey experiences racing their way to a thrilling victory. The horse play zone will be dedicated to younger
visitors, offering a variety of activities in a safe and controlled space. The saddle up are will be dedicated to appeal
to older children and the young at heart providing the chance to hop on the back of a stationary horse and try to match the
riding seat of a jockey.
